Barrett’s esophagus is precancerous condition in esophagus. RFA uses high-energy radio waves and helps in ablating abnormal cells and tissue. A RFA catheter is inserted into the esophagus and radiofrequency energy is delivered to the abnormal tissue resulting in ablation. Barrett’s resection is a type of EMR by which abnormal lesions can be removed. Combinations of these techniques may be needed for endoscopic eradication of Barrett’s esophagus.
